This is a demo of a game I'm working on, which is going to be a 12-player multiplayer version of the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES, made entirely in the GODOT engine. This is mainly a test version with built-in debug functions for Mario to test accuracy to the original game's physics.

Controls:

X to jump

Z to Run/Shoot Fireballs

Arrow keys for directional movements/navigating menus

Shift to change selection on menu to access Options

Enter to start game on main menu/after Character Select Menu (Only Mario is playable for now)

Debug controls (in main game scene):

Enter to cycle through powerup states, up to Fire

Select to damage/kill Mario

UPDATE 5/8/25:

-Added bricks and blocks. Only visual, no scoring system yet. Bricks will be breakable with Super/Fire Mario in future update.

-Recreation of World 1-1 as Test Level

-Implemented original style camera (will be optional in full release)

UPDATE 5/9/25:

Tweaked Mario's physics and animations to be more accurate to the original. Controls should feel much better now.
